Is it possible to refill a brother tn-3185 cartridge?

I have heard rumours that computer manufacturers have a chip inside the cartridge to prevent people from constantly refilling the cartridges. is this true? where did you find out your information?

Yes - all brother toner cartridges are not only chipped they also have an electrostatic drum (that green roller on the front of the cartridge) which is designed to fail after a few thousand pages.





So no - refilling is not really an option. You can however purchase remanufactured toner cartridges for your printer at a savings. A remanufactured cartridge will not only have a new chip installed, they will also have a new electrostatic roller, new gearing and be fully sealed.
