cartridge contain three holes in top it will hide under the sticker.
in market refill packed is there, buy it contain biller, color inks,
using biller put drop by drop in to the hole.
same as for black cartridge.
but buy some good ink because it will affect head.

How do you refill a lexmark 4270 ink Cartridge?

I think you have to make your own hole there and there's a rubber also included in the package to be put on the hole you made after refilling it. But thru experiences in refilling Lexmark as well with HP, it's not worth the ratio of succeeding in this procedure is 1 out of 10. Gud luck if you succeed.

I have a Dell 924 All in one. It was good until it ran out of ink and you were forced to buy your ink through Dell which was higher than I purchased the Printer. I have a small brother 4-in one... copies, scans, prints, and fax.
The cool thing is that its cartridges are transparent and plastic. What I did is to drill a little hole in each of the cartridges enough for the needle of the refill to get in. Then I covered the hole with a toothpick or a tape.
The refill ink is really cheap compared to buying a new cartridge.
Good quality printing... Color...
In addition... brother cartridge don't have chips... so that's good.
I have had the worst luck with lex mark, but i have an HP and i paid less than $70 for it new all in one. canon is good for the ability to refill the cartridges yourself, that's recommended if you do a lot of printing, but even then you gotta replace the cartridges every once in a while.
Lexmark have the all in one and even the cheap models

I have the ink but lost the instructions. There are 5 holes on the top. Lets say the single hole is facing away from me so the print ';head?'; - where the ink comes out onto the paper - is also away from me. There is the SINGLE HOLE at the ';front'; and two holes to the left - left/front and left/rear - and two holes to the right - right/front and right/rear. Which holes get which ink? I have Cyan - which is blue, Magenta - which is red and yellow - which is obviously yellow.

Refill cartridge is not working?
my cartrigde was not working i searched on net and found that my printing head was blocked follwoing the instructions on net i put water on the head i worked for some time but eventualy stopped working i tried once more but know it is not working even the printer is not accepting the cartridge but the second one is working well. For the first time I tried a refill for my Epson Stylus Photo 820U colour toner.
I went to a smart-cartridge store here in Lisbon and the service was bad.
The yellow doesn't come out from the toner and while the original toner has 2 different cyans and 2 magentas, they seem to put the same colour in both.
Do you have any experience using the service from this company with Epson printers ?

I recently took my HP56 black ink to be refilled at Walgreen's, and while the cartridge has been refilled, the ink levels on my HP5550 Inkjet printer are shown on the computer as being really low. You should be able to go into your printer setup menu- where you also align you printer and everything and then it should reset it.

Friendly hint: If you attempting to fill a color cartridge, do not follow the color printed on the label. The do not match up with the color in the well. This way you won't mix your colors

When you buy a new toner cartridge from HP, they send you a postal proof that you can put back on the box it comes in, tape the box back up with your old toner cartridge, and mail it back. I don't believe they will refurbish it as they like to sell only new cartridges that are much more reliable, but they could sell them to other recyclers, break them down into their unique components and melt them down for re-use or simply dispose of them in a more appropriate manner.

Lexmark 10N0227 no 27 ink cartridge refill?
Hi does anybody know how to refill a number 27 lexmark ink cartridge i have bought the kit but the instructions are rubbishLexmark 10N0227 no 27 ink cartridge refill?
Assuming the contacts are not dead (electrical failure) and the ink is flowing (take a damp paper towel, and let printhead sit on it for a while to see if ink comes out.) Follow the steps below.
1. Remove top. It pops off if you hit it where it meets the cartridge body, using a flat-head screw driver and hammer.
2. Use toothpick to find out which color goes where
3. Refill the colors with about 3ml each
4. Reattach the top. Hot glue works great.
5. Redo towel test.
6. If the kits gives you a suction tool use that
7. Test in printer and using cleaning cycle if you have to.
In the future if your kit runs out, or the cartridge fails, buy the Lexmark 26, it has twice as much ink in it for only a few dollars more.Lexmark 10N0227 no 27 ink cartridge refill?

You will most likely void the warranty on your printer if you refill your own. So refill is OK as long as nothing goes wrong. Myself, I have not been able to take that chance. There are stores now that will refill for you and you may want to try that.
Unless you have a real nice laser printer or something, with the low cost of printers these days, it almost easier to buy a new printer before filling a cartridge.

How do I open the top to refill a lexmark Z-23 ink cartridge?
INSTRUCTIONS FOR LEXMARK AND COMPAQ BLACK CARTRIDGES
The refilling instructions for all Lexmark and COMPAQ black cartridges are the same.
The correct type of ink has been included with your kit.
Always cover working area with newspapers.
1. With the enclosed drill eyelet, create a hole in the top of the cartridge as seen in the diagram.
2. Attach the needle to the syringe and twist the needle on tight. Draw 15ml of black ink. Insert the needle in the hole you just created. Slowly inject the ink inside the cartridge allowing the sponge to absorb it.
3. Seal the hole with tape or put glue from a hot glue gun over the hole.
4. Rinse the syringe and needle in warm water and store in a safe place for future refills. Always replace the protective sheath onto the needle when done.
PRINT HEAD CLEANING
If the cartridge prints in streaks or does not print cleanly it is highly likely that the print head is clogged, dirty or damaged. To clean the print head, Place the print head in just enough simmering water to cover it. Let it sit in the water for about five to ten minutes. Remove the cartridge and squeeze the sides with your hand forcing ink out of the print head. For stubborn cartridges use ammonia (50/50 with water). The copper contacts can be cleaned with plain water and a soft cloth.

I have not heard anything good about the Walgreen's refilling. While they do save you cash, they do not have a good testing procedure. A good refiller will test the cartridges in a printer that takes the cartridge to make sure it works. There are many places out there that refill cartridges, but ask them how they test them. The best way is an actual printer that takes the cartridge, getting the cartridge in a real world situation.

peel back the label, you should be able to see which ink goes where by looking at the sponge through the holes.

As said above there is a small danger of a refilled cartridge leaking but that rarely happened and in most cases it is from the printer being in the sun or heat so that the ink cartridge begins to sweat or expand as we say. Something like this only happens like I said from being in the heat or just forgetting to cover the fill hole. People will say the ink is not the same, print quality is less, etc...but I would argue in most applications that is not going to be a problem.
You could always try them out and see how they work for you.

You can refill the head, but the printer will still think it is empty (which does you no good). If cost and quality is your main concern, consider a Kodak printer. The original ink tank replacements cost about half of everyone else's.
You can refill most cartridges, I've been refilling them for a long time with no problems. I'm currently using a hp desk jet d1470 and I'm not having any problems with the refills.
most you can ..but inkjets were designed for one use. refills can be spendy. I actually saved money by buying a new printer versus getting a refill. Refills tend to leak unless you do them right and sometimes even when you do them right. I don't refill mine and I would say unless you REALLY can't afford it just buy a refill. If you do lots of text with only the occasional color pic you might want to buy a laser they are way cheaper per page and look better. Take the occasional color job to kinkos

It would be a good idea to use the acetate with a lint free towel like Scott's brand and clean the nozzles at the same time. It could be that the chip in your old refilled cartridge has expired and will always show low ink now. I would suggest getting a continuous ink system instead new individual cartridges...it is equal to 61 cartridges of each color so the need to refill it is alot less often. They cost about $50 for the complete system including the ink.
They are easy to install and not messy at all...it took me about 5 minutes to get mine completely installed and when I need to refill it the tanks are outside of my printer so there is no need to remove the cartridges.

i have my epson on continuous ink supply system (ciss). everytime i refill it costs me 320 pesos for 400 ml of inks, 100ml for each color, that's about equivalent to 7 15ml cartridges. it has very good ink output although my printer detects that it is not genuine. however, i have no complaints because of the savings i get.

I have a refill ink kit that I used for HP printers. I have the ink and the tools but I don't have instructions on how to refill Dell cartridges # 5566 (black ink) and # 4646 (color). you really should know that dell and hp use different inks and using the one company's inks in the other's cartridges could cause a number of problems.
that said, peel the labels off your carts. if the holes are not already present, drill into the divots at the end of the mazes (if you've no clue what i mean, a maze is the little windy lines that vent your cart, there should be a pretty obvious divot at one end of each maze).
on the black, you only need to drill into one divot. on the colour, you'll end up with three holes. you will need to look into those holes to figure out which colour goes where as i cannot remember where each goes in the 4646.
black takes about 20 ml, each colour will take about 5 ml. do not overfill! if you pull some ink back after filling each colour, you should be okay.
also note: your ink status monitor CANNOT be re-set, and your printer MAY NOT let you use your refilled cartridges. dell is getting smarter about this stuff.

I purchased a Nukote color ink refill kit for my Hp printer. I have refilled the cartridge before and it worked fine, I tried to refill it again and now the printer is printing the color only in yellow and black ink. Do not use toner powder that is not specifically formulated for the printer in question. Each manufacturer has different specifications and each printer works a little differently. Using the incorrect toner powder can ruin the printer.
If you're committed to doing this yourself, it's fairly simple if you buy a kit designed for your printer as it'll undoubtedly come with directions.
In short, you'll need to remove the fill plug at the end of the cartridge, carefully dump out any old toner to empty the hopper and refill it with new toner before reinserting the plug.
It's assumed that you can do this up to 3 times per cartridge before the cartridge is completely worn out and must be rebuilt.
Be advised that toner is a carcinogen (causes cancer) and that, once airborne, the particles remain in the air for hours. Spilled toner is extremely difficult to clean up and that refilling cartridges will require some tools.
Do not use a regular vacuum to clean up spills, you'll gum up the works and burn out the motor.

78a plus,take the cartridge out of the printer, boil some water, get a container large enough to put the cartridge in, take a paper towel fold it in half, get some isopropyl alcohol and a couple q tips, pour about a quarter of an inch of the boiled water into the container, dip the cartridge in and out of the water slowly 5-6 times, take the cartridge and dab it on the paper towel, always in a different spot so you can see the cartridge start to bleed better as it goes, you should get 3 solid color lines, now when you do, take a q tip dip it into the alcohol, turn the q tip sideways and gently rub the contact board on the back of the cartridge, the small electronic board, now let that sit for 10 minutes all that does is clean the contact and evaporate any water that got on the board, if you still have a problem repeat the process over again, but a lot of the bleeding starts by dabbing the cartridge on the paper towel, have fun good luck.

i was able to refill. hp 564 cartridge, hp c6380 printer. i had refill kit for my old printer w/ ink, big syringe, and needle. if u peel back the sticker on top of the cartridge, u can see a depression w/ a little white ball in it, and if u go further back, u can see tiny hole. stick syringe in hole Report Abuse

This problem is because the cartridges are designed to be replaced when empty, rather than refilled. They have an on-board chip which would need to be reprogrammed to make it appear like new, with the printer software showing a full ink chamber.
This reprogramming is easy for Epson printers, resetters being easily available. For other models it is not so easy. But it still works.
you have to tell the printer that you have replaced it so that it has registered it has new ink inside. The printer level will then be adjusted to full accordingly.
Some printers like mine (Canon) recognize that when u change a cartridge, it asks you which one you have replaced and adjusts the ink level(s) accordingly
Your printer is remembering that cartridge as the one it just emptied.
Many cartridges have an electronic signature which your printer remembers.
There is no way to clear or fix this, simply keep printing ignoring the low ink warning.

My steps where something like:
- Remove catridge from printer
- Find the little hole that is closed by a little metal ball
- Use the special tool from the refill pack to push in the little metal ball
- Squirt ink into cartridge via this little hole
- Cover the hole in the cartridge. The refill kit has something for this.

Take it from someone with experience, DO NOT REFILL INK CARTRIDGES. It's a huge mess, your printer gets screwed up because the chip on the cartridge, which contains the level, does not match up, and your printer will simply not print. Also, if you try to buy a generic cartridge it will clog up your printer and ruin it. I've got a broken printer to prove it.
Trust me, I've tried it all, so either buy a new cheap printer everytime you run out of ink (That's what I do) or buy the genuine cartridge (I wish I would've done that for my $150 printer thats now sitting useless). Too bad there's not a better shortcut....

It should tell you with the instructions of ink refill kit. I did refill two different lexmark inks. They were different per instructions. Make sure you have the right refill kit for your printer. Good Luck!!
Most dell cartridges do not need to be opened, as there are holes under the sticker at the top. I found that a company called Inktec offers the best refill kits for Dell ink cartridges.

My steps where something like:
- Remove catridge from printer
- Find the little hole that is closed by a little metal ball
- Use the special tool from the refill pack to push in the little metal ball
- Squirt ink into cartridge via this little hole
- Cover the hole in the cartridge. The refill kit has something for this.

Some printers like Epson and Canon have chip re-setters that you can buy so that the chip reads full again and thinks its a new OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), but as of yet I have not seen a chip re-setter for a Lexmark. HP printers you can overide their message that the cartridge is not an original and then after that it prints but still does not show ink level untill new original cartridge is put in. The person above is also correct and there are some ways of fooling the printer without a resetter, like the black electrical tape to cover the printer head trick, but there are only certain ones that it can be done with. When I had that make of printer I just refilled and when the print quality started to go a bit I just used to use that as my sign I needed to refill. To my understanding, the new generation Lexmark printers wont even print with a refill let alone show ink level so if yours prints that's at least a good thing. Refilling does not damage your printer by the way this is a myth put out my the makers to make us buy their ink which once for once is dearer than gold. I have refilled every printer I have had, Canon, Hp and Lexmark without any problems at all. I used to refill them three times then buy a new one as the printer heads are inbuilt into each new none chipped cartridge, the sort Lexmark use, so these burn out after so long as when printing the printer heads have to heat up to a very high temperature to allow the ink on to the paper so they quite literaly burn out and then you have to replace them. So after all that, the answer is, you can't tell if its full.

You will have to insert the blade all around and break the seal so that you can lifte off the top. Now you can see the ';sponge'; and reservoir that has to be filled.
Do so, wipe the edges carefully. Reinsert the top by coating the edges with glue from a home glue gun.

How do I properly refill a lexmark black #32 printer cartridge?
I purchased a refill kit on ebay for my lexmark cartridge, and I followed the instructions and injected the ink into the cartridge.
However now the printer still says the cartridge has 0% ink, but when I print an alignment test or when I clean the printer head, both produce fine prints, however when I try to print from my computer it says that there is no black ink left and I need to replace it.

I'd recommend that you instead buy professionally refilled cartridges if you are looking to save a few dollars.
